What’s Your Poison? to go on tour in autumn 2023

Steve Orme’s true-crime Victorian murder mystery What’s Your Poison? is to go on a tour in autumn 2023.

Derbyshire-based Rumpus Theatre Company is to stage this “fascinating” new play about the 19th century doctor William Palmer, otherwise known as the Rugeley Poisoner. He is a respectable member of the medical profession . . . so why do so many people around him die suddenly, and without apparent explanation?

What’s Your Poison is seen from both the atmospheric Victorian perspective – the doctor, his family and friends, and his trial – and also a contemporary 21st century perspective, with a young couple captivated by this true-crime case. It has a “delicious final twist!”

The play will have its opening night at the Rose Theatre, Kidderminster before going to Stafford Gatehouse in Staffordshire – the county which was home to the infamous doctor.
